How did her parents feel the first time they held her. There are many details she wants to know. I especially like how the father plays as much of a role in the story as the mother. Although Curtis' book is about a domestic adoption, I think it is important to show our girls the many ways families are formed. Was she tiny and perfect.
Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born is a fun story that celebrates the beautiful blessing of adoption. My wife and I have adopted two girls from China so stories about adoption are important to us. Tell Me Again About the Night I Was Born is a cute story about a young girl who asks her parents about the first night of her life. What was the lullaby that mommy sang as they fell asleep.
She was thrilled with the book. This was recommended to my daughter who just adopted a child. I ordered it before Christmas and got it right away.
More than anything it makes her feel so special and uniquely chosen. She asked me to read it to her again last night. :) This is pretty much how our story happened, so we love it. My daughter is 5 and loves every ounce of it. The only part I disagree with is I think football is the greatest sport, not baseball.
Thank you, Jamie, for such a wonderful gift. She was so inspired by this book. This book, naturally, had my daughter asking about the night she was born, over and over. Now, we read both books together. My daughter loves when we read this one together.
These magic moments are why we want to become parents to begin with. Eventually, she asked me to make a story book for her about the night she was born. Curtis captures very well the magic of that first night and those first few days. This is an engaging and inspiring book. She does it so well that any child can appreciate this book, regardless of how their family was put together.
We put together her book with her favorites parts of her first few days, scrapbook style.
Although every adoption story is different, I think this would be a great book to encourage every family to talk about their adoption story to their kids. I bought it shortly after we brought home our daughter who joined our family through domestic adoption. This is an awesome book for domestic adoption. The first time I read it my husband & I were a waiting family and I cried. We had to travel to another state to pick her up.
